Garden Committees

Helping to Make a Difference

The Community Garden thrives only with contributions from our members. Each Gardener selects one or more committees to participate in each year. We try to fit gardeners to their first choice. Here are a list of the current committees and positions. Selections are made each March.

Garden Committee

These individuals help to coordinate the general maintenance and supervision of the Garden to assure adherence to the guidelines set forth by the Environmental Commission. The Garden Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month.

Members are:

  • Maureen Aronow (Treasurer)

  • Steve Greguske

  • Steve Martin and

  • Renee Ciesla (Environmental Commission Representative)

Single Person Committees

  • Treasurer: Oversight of budget and spending. Main liaison with the Town on all financial matters.

  • Critter Control: Ongoing maintenance of critter boundary and fence around the garden.  

  • Mulch Coordinator: Orders mulch from town for delivery, coordinates cardboard donations

  • Garden Communication Coordinator: takes minutes from monthly meetings and sends out short notes to gardeners on updates

  • Spring/Fall Clean Up Coordinator: set dates for clean ups, send out sign-up genius

  • Website Coordinator: Content management and maintenance of the garden website

  • Press Writer/Content Creator: Write articles or content for the garden website

Garden Committees

  • Composting: maintain the three compost piles. 

  • Donation Garden: Planting, maintaining and donating produce from our donation bed. Coordinates with other non-profit groups that are participating in the garden.

  • Honeybees: maintains the honeybees at the garden.

  • Pollinator: plant, maintain and water flowers and plants throughout the garden to attract more bees and butterflies.

  • Sprinkler: manage sprinkler system including turning the system on and off and coordinates billing with Treasurer.

  • Luminary: Any and all gardeners willing to be a street captain during the Rotary Luminary are invited to participate. Sale is in Nov/Dec.

  • Children's Garden: Development of Children's Garden for our garden.
